Born in 1954 in Ireland, Peadar Ó Riada grew up in a family with a strong musical heritage, as his father Seán Ó Riada was a renowned composer and founder of the traditional music ensemble Ceoltóirí Chualann.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Peadar Ó Riada has become a respected figure in the world of Irish traditional music.
A composer, he has released numerous albums, composed orchestra, Choral works, a large solo traditional collection of tunes, scores for film and television, and writes and lectures on a wide range of subjects at home and abroad. Ó Riada’s work continues to inspire and influence the next generation of Irish musicians and composers.
